N DEPTH:
Now is the time to leave the empires of the past behind. We have thought about it long and hard. We are done wanting and waiting. We ask for her blessings and protections. We are ready to begin. This ritual offering marks the beginning of our movement towards the future.
In the Ace of Wands, a cadre of hands join together across lands verdant with Retama flowers, and seach towards the heavens to light a torch thonoring a new chapter in history and or life. In the foreground the first polished hand holds a recently sparked match. The courage to hold danger and volatility at our fingertips will be indispensable to the transformations on the horizon.
Behind the lit match, Another hand holds a branch of pussy-willow gifted from a fellow traveler. The pussy willow is our sprouting wand, returning those that work with it to unconditional love and a non-judgmental gentleness when life has doled out one too many traumas. It demarcates a gentle protection for the inner-child and beleaguered hearts so that they may heal, grow and flourish.
The third wand at the center this card is that of the Wiphala, the flag of the indigenous peoples of the Andes, which since being adopted by the Movimiento al Socialismo (MAS) party and Eva Morales in 2009 as the dual flag of Bolivia, has become a symbol of decolonization, and the political consciousness of the planet.
These hands channel their respective wands toward the sky, sun, and the cosmos. Happily the sun aligns with the match, the pussy willow grounds itself to the damp earth, and the Wiphala dialogues with the winds. The multiple wands becoming one remind us that in order to realize a change we must find one another, and share our ideas an our truths without reservation. When the Ace of Wands appears it offers a new opportunity or concept with great potential to grow and connect with a wondrous new horizon. The sky holds gradient of dark to light fog, indicating that the path ahead is not without its difficulties, but if you keep an open heart, you will likely be surprised by serendipity and good luck that helps you along the way.
