IN DEPTH:
The Four of Pentacles shows a man sitting in an armchair underneath a large hanging lamp, and an impressive collection of vinyl records. He likes this apartment—it’s not his—it’s a sublet. But it’s home for now, and the four of pentacles can make himself at home anywhere, so long as it can house his collection. He often says he wants to start a new life, but he insists on holding on to sentimental objects of his past.
He glazes at the first of four Pentacle LP’s and remembers how it felt back when he used to listen to these records.
He is very proud of his collection, yet he insists on keeping much of it in secret. It can be difficult to engage the Four of Pentacles in discussion about his collection, it seems to mean something to him that he is unable to articulate. But he is certain that this “collection” is accumulating into something precious beyond belief. No, he will not play you any of the records from this collection so don’t ask.
