IN SHORT:
UPRIGHT: Self-Acceptance. Practice gratitude & self-care. the pleasure in construction of the self. The beauty within being both “effortless” & “effortful”. Set the stage for your joy. Be seen.
REVERSED: Materialism, dissatisfaction, indulgence. Look for Inner-Contentment. Weigh the implications and impact of any partnership and collaborations being offered. Be careful with those attempting to recuperate and/or appropriate the vision of another towards individual benefit.

Don’t waste time on self-flagellation – learn from your mistakes and move forward.”

“Capitalism thrives when you hate yourself and there’ll always be a cuter dress, a more impressive house, or a better pair of shoes. Nothing you buy will ever be enough, and it’s set up that way by design. But while capitalism is all about looking outside your Self, yoga says the exact opposite.”

IN DEPTH:
She is almost casual in the way she holds this impressive yogi handstand. She wants you to see what can happen when you just keep working at something. The nine of cups knows that ‘working at something’ doesn’t mean hard work. Nine of Cups shows up, finds the best lighting, and a context that feels both elegant and effortless. She is grounded in self-love. She is beautiful, she is epic, at other moments she might be what some call ‘messy’, she also exudes both ‘not giving a fuck’ and a radical vulnerability and awareness. She expands the field of visibility & desire. She demands the right to be be seen. She demands the right to not hate herself. She loves everything about this moment and each of us in it. The walls are decorated with a collection of 9 different vintage goblets. Each one collected in correlation to a memorable event in life. Each cup holds a different allure, and mysterious origin story. Her world is lush with appreciation.
But seen from another vantage point, we notice while she calmly looks to the future, her shadow returns the gaze to past selves—selves that were not so loving. In the quest for a more just world, sometimes its important to take the first foundational step of getting free from the domination of negative self-talk—which keeps us alienated, servile, re-active and complacent.
The good news is the Nine of Cups will meet you wherever you are at right now. And she will bring beauty and self-acknowledgement to this moment. Nine of Cups helps you hear yourself:
“This is who I am. This is where I’m at. This is everything I have done. This is how I honor myself. This is how I have evolved through challenges. I am strength and kindness. I am the work of art. But most of all I’m a really good viiiiibe. “
