IN DEPTH:
The Eight of Wands shows a protest amidst the summer heat. Eight placards, held like wands channeling towards the the sky, tapping into a power greater than the forces at work on the ground. They are working with the momentum of history in action. It’s a looser game to predict what revolutions will fail and which will succeed. But sometimes the events and collective energy coalesces in ways that are illegible in the moment but appear as either inevitable or miraculous. The placards sway and bob through the air to the rhythm of the chants. Above the crowds an airplane retreats into the distance. In the sky this plane whisks away is passengers to their schedule destinations.
In reverse eight of wands may indicate, just such a retreat from struggle towards travel or new a more leisured lifestyle. However if this card appears upright, you may be in for the fight of your life. A conflict that defines decades. The eight of wands is fighting for their lives and finding themselves in the process. And they are going to win. Because this is a fight that quite simply can’t be escaped. The sky is clear and history is flowing through you, your interactions and your surroundings.
